On the Runway with Watercolor

I am back again today, playing along with the fabulous Runway Inspired Challenge.  What a great inspo pic, the colors, the mood...super fun!

The first card I did was all about watercolor, and I just thought I could one up it a bit...so I created two.

For the first card, I took Distress Markers in the primary colors I saw on the pic and scribbled a bit on my block.  I misted my watercolor paper first, and then picked up the color with my water brush, creating blobs of color.  I would then heat set it, and add more color, until I got the look I wanted.

I stamped a couple of words from Paper Smooches Bold Buzzwords, as well as a few stars from the set in black ink and then adhered the watercolor panel to a black card base.  I also added gold glitter with the Wink of Stella pen to my letters and stars.

Now, that's all well and good, but I saw so much more in that picture that I wanted to translate onto my card, so I went in a different direction, still using Distress Markers.

I started by using Lawn Fawn's fun Penelope's Blossoms, and coloring my stamp with the marker, and lightly misting it with water.  I then stamped it onto watercolor paper, and created a little floral spray.

I selectivly stamped my sentiment and adhered strips of black cardstock to the panel with Tombow Mono, before popping it off of my card base.  I covered the card base with patterned paper from the Date Night 6x6 paper pad from Chickaniddy, and spritzed some white ink onto it as well.  Lastly, I went over the blue flowers a little bit more with water, until I liked the look and added some fabulous SC enamel dots.
