Pocket Full

Well hello my friend!  Thank you for stopping by today!  I am so excited to share my little project with you because it is my entry for Round 3 of Gallery Idol.  It is hard to believe that a winner will be announced in a few weeks!  It has certainly been on amazing ride and I am so thankful to have made it this far.  With your help, I might be able to go further (crossing fingers)!

For this next challenge the ten of us were to incorporate Fabric in our design.  I decided to use that little jean pocket within the bigger pocket for my fabric piece, which I did not know was put there in the 1800's by the Levi company for cowboys to keep their pocket watches safe.  Cool!  Here is what I did with it.

I started by cutting four equal pieces of patterned paper and adhering them to a brown panel, securing it to a white card base.

Using the small extra pocket in a pair of men's jeans (2 bucks at a thrift store), I tide around jute twine and secured a darling heart botton.  I then adhered my pocket to my patterned paper panel with Scor-Tape.  I then customized my sentiment using a fun handwritten font I found at Dafont.com, trimmed it and adhered it with foam.

Lastly, I die cut and punched out two sizes of vellum stars, ran them through my Big Shot using the Swiss Dot Embossing Folder, rubbed white ink on the edges and secured them to my card after running them through the Xyron.

I do hope you liked my project and if you feel so inclined, you may vote now through Thursday noon mountain time.  Thank you so much for all of your support!  I appreciate you so much!

Lindsay
