CFC113 She's Crafty and She's Just My Type

Hey, hey!

I am always in awe of the cleverness factor when it comes to Michele's challenge themes for CAS-ual Fridays.  Seriously, they crack me up!  This week is all about using Kraft paper and some kind of typography on your project.

For my card today, I added quite a bit of patterned paper, as well as CAS-ual Friday's Lotsa Links stamp set.  I popped up some of the paper strips for more interest.

For my sentiment, I went with Hero Arts, in Wet Cement ink.  I then added a liberal dash of Studio Calico Wood Veneer stars.

I hope you choose to play with us this week!  We would love to see.

Runway Inspired Hello!

Hey there!

It has been a crazy week so far for this house and I need the weekend!  HAHA!  I haven't had a lot of time to craft lately, but I squeezed it in the other night to make a card for the latest Runway Inspired Challenge.

This card was super easy to make, I simply masked off the center area, and bounced the card front in Ranger distress inks.  I then cut thin black strips of cardstock, and added a circle punched sentiment from Neat and Tangled (which is in the IHP store).

So, I am wondering what your favorite paper trimmer is?  Mine is a standard Fiskars with the small blades, and it just isn't "cutting" it!  Literally, it is chewing up my papers, sooo frustrating.  So, please, tell me your favs!

Have a great day!

It's A Good Day...

...even if it is a Monday.  Hey, a card makes any day a better day, especially one that uses Mama Elephant stamps.  I haven't had the chance to play with them lately, so sad (frown).  I made up for it with this.

For my card, I thought it would be fun to recreate a pattern from a Martha Stewart magazine reply card.  I started out with different Hero Arts Shadow inks, as well as Fresh Ink in multiple colors.  Taking the small and large rectangles from the Soiree set, I stamped them going from the left to the right of my white panel.

I then stamped my sentiment in black from Up and Away and added a few black enamel dots.  I have to say, I looove how this turned out!

Thanks for stopping by to look, have a great day!

With Gratitude

Hello, hello!

Happy Friday friends!  I am so thankful for the weekend, phew!  I have a card to share today, that uses some goodies form the i {heart} papers store.  It was also made using leftovers from this card.  Yeah!

To start, I brought out the Streamers stamp set and dies and created my black banner, stamping a sentiment from Chit Chat, and embossing it in white. I then added those colorful strips to one side of my white card base.

I adhered the banner with foam and added a few black rhinestones!  Super CAS, wahoo!

Thanks so much for popping by, I really appreciate it!  Have a fabulous weekend.

A Feathery Thank You

Hey, hey!

How is going?  Good I hope.  I finally had a chance to get crafty with some of my friends this past weekend, just what I needed!  I brought along some of the latest stamps from Wplus9 called Fanciful Feathers, and created this:

Starting with a piece of patterned paper from the Hello Again 6x6 paper pad, I stamped the smallest feathers from the set scattered down the side of the piece.  I then adhered it to a white card base.

To finish it off, I added my fav obsession, vellum, to which I had heat embossed the sentiment in white.  And of course, I had to add some black pearls.

Thanks for stopping!

CFC112 Color Combo

Hey there!  It's Friday, wahoooo!

I am back today with a fun new challenge for CAS-ual Fridays!  Yeah!  This week is a great color combo of aqua, green and orange.  Such bright, fun colors!  Here is what I did:

I started by stamping a white panel with a fun background stamp from TCM's Geometric Foundations in Hero Arts' shadow inks.

I then adhered it to a white card base, and added strips of orange cardstock to the side.  I added some glittery gold stars for my accents, and added a sentiment from an old Hero Arts set.

I also wanted to show you how I made my glittery stars.  Nothing new here, but thought i'd share.

I first die cut my stars from an adhesive sheet adhered to cardstock.

I then sprinkled and burnished my glitter onto the sticky star.  Easy-peasy!

That's it for me today, thanks so much for stopping by!  I do hope you play along with us this week!

Just A Note

Hey there!

I have a fun little card to share with you using goodies from the i {heart} papers store.  I am playing along with the Moxie Fab World, and Cath's super fun Tuesday Trigger.  What a fab inspirational photo, see below!

To start, I stamped some stripes onto a white piece of cardstock, trimming it down and adhering it onto a white card base.  I then took some Vellum and die cut, stamped, and heat embossed a few starfish images from Wplus9's Guiding Light die and stamp set.  I then die cut the lighthouse and stamped it in a muted gray color, and popped it up.

To finish it off, I stamped my sentiment from Blanket Stitched Blooms on a vellum strip and added a few die cut's from the Guiding Light die set.  I then added a bit of bling.  You know me, I just can't help myself.

Here is a look at the pic:

I was certainly inspired by those stripes and the navy/gray.  The nautical just seemed like a good fit.  Well, that's all I have!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

You Are So Nice

Hey, hey!

My cardstock was getting neglected...big time.  So, I scoured Pinterest for some inspo, and found this fabulous pic.

I loved the ombre, and the white...so I tried my hand at recreating it for my card.

I cut down my cardstock strips and adhered them straight to a white card base.  I then took the speech bubble dies from Paper Smooches and stamped a fun sentiment inside from this set.  I finished it off with a few black enamel dots.

Thanks for taking a peek!  I hope you are off to a great start to your week.

Brilliant!

Hey, hey!

Happy Saturday friend!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I thought I would pop in and share a little card I made the other day.  No special reason for it, I just wanted to play with an old Hero Arts set.

It's a little bit of everything on this, Mama Elephant, Hero Arts, Carta Bella and Paper Smooches.  I just love playing!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great one!

Best Wishes Runway Style

Hello, hello!

I didn't think I would be back here for a few days, but alas!  I had a few moments last night to make a card!  Yippee for awesome husbands like mine who take the kiddos for a bit.  I sure needed it!  I used the latest Runway Inspired Challenge for my project.

To start, I cut down a white cardstock panel and masked off a portion on each side.  I then stamped and embossed the lovely floral image from Mama Elephant's Water Bloom set.  Next, I took three pink tones and blended those together.  After I removed the masks, I wrapped around a strip of vellum with my sentiment heat embossed on it.

To finish it off, I adhered it to a black card base, and added a bunch of rhinestones.

Here is a look at the inspiration:

Thanks for stopping!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Banner Happy Birthday

Hey crafty friends!

I had a spare minute this morning to play along with the latest 10 Minute Craft Dash, a birthday challenge!  It's their 1st birthday you know, and there are a ton of fun prizes up for grabs and oodles of inspiration from her many guests, what a blast!

I think I made pretty good time too...

I brought out an older Paper Smooches set that hasn't seen a lot of love.  I stamped one of the images multiple times down at the bottom of my card base in three different Hero Arts Mid-tone inks, Bubble Gum, Mint Julep and Butter Bar.

I then adhered a strip of black cardstock, along with a banner from the Streamers set, and a sentiment from Salutations.  I then finished it off with a few silver sequins.  All of the supplies I used can be found in the i {heart} papers store.

Thanks so much for taking a peek!  Have a great rest of your week!

Thank You (an i {heart} papers Post)

Happy Monday!

I hope all is well for you crafty friend.  I have a little card to share with you today, using some Avery Elle products that you can find in the IHP store.

I started using the Modern Leaves mini set, and stamped the small solid leaf image in a mod color combo.  I then stamped the Thank You from Handwritten Notes.  After I was done with the panel, I adhered a strip of vellum to the bottom and adhered it to a card base, impressed with a LC embossing folder.

I then added a few accents to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Mama card

Hey there!

How are you this fine Saturday?  I have a card to share with you today, that I created using the latest challenge from Mama Elephant.  I adore the inspirational photo (at bottom of post) and tried to incorporate some of the main elements.

To begin, I masked off the sides of a white panel and stamped some black stripes from Beyond Basic Borders.  I then stamped the Hello image multiple times in Butter Bar, from the Big Words set, and trimmed it out.  I popped it up and added a speech bubble from Full House.

To finish it off, I added a few pink sequins.  I love how this turned out!

CFC111 Buttons

Hello, hello!

August?  Already?  Well, this summer is just blasting away, and school for my first born is right around the corner, I can't even believe it!  Are you feeling summer slipping away too?  Maybe a little CAS card will help us get happy.  Today, CAS-ual Friday's challenge is all about buttons.  I'll be honest, I don't use buttons or even ribbon anymore on my creations.  My buttons are sadly neglected, sitting in color coordinated jars.  I didn't even use them on my card today, lol!  Now that is pretty sad!

For my card, I used button dies from Memory Box, die cutting various sizes and adhering them to my stamped and embossed card base.

Our generous sponsor for this week is Ellen Hutson, with a $25.00 gift certificate!  Play along!
