Today, I am participating in a very special blog hop in honor of Heather Timmins, owner of Skipping Stones Design Stamps. You should have arrived from Vanessa's blog, if not check out the SSD blog for details.
Heather has decided to take a break from the stamp business, and this special hop is in her honor, as a way of saying thank you, and good wishes! I remember the first time I "met" Heather. I had my very first card published in Papercrafts Magazine back in 2010 using Friendly Fruits and she emailed me to tell me about her very generous incentive program. Well, a guest design spot soon followed as well as a place on her team. I have fond memories of my short time with Skipping Stones and adore the fabulously funny as well as gorgeous stamp sets that Heather has designed. God bless you Heather!
For my card, I chose Breathtaking Butterflies. It is a newer set, but oh-so lovely! To start, I stamped the solid image onto my panel in a light blue, added a few strips of Navy cardstock and adhered the panel to a Navy card base.
I then stamped the large detailed image in Navy, cut it out and popped it up over the strips, adding rhinestones and stamping my sentiment underneath.
I couldn't stop there, and created this super clean and simple card using the smaller solid butterfly. Stamping the image at the base of a white panel, I trimmed around the bottom of the butterflies, stamped my sentiment and after tying on twine popped it up onto a Kraft card base.

ReplyDeleteThese are both so lovely, Lindsay. The thin banners behind the focal butterfly are so crisp and classy. I love the soft colors you chose for the second card, and the bottom-heavy design with lots of white space is a favorite of mine. :)
