Let It Snow

Hey there friend!  How have you been?  Great I hope, all is well here with the New Year right around the corner I can't help but reminisce about this past year.  For starters it will be a year since I started this blog!  What a fantastically creative year it has been for me!  I set out with 2 goals, get published and be on a design team and amazingly have seen both of them come to fruition.  It is true, if you dream it, you can achieve it!  I have learned so many techniques and tricks and met so many wonderful people on my journey and I wouldn't change a thing.  I hope 2011 proves to be just as productive and rewarding.  What are some of your goals for this upcoming year?  I sincerely hope they come true for you friend!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your wonderful support this past year!

Okay onto todays card.  This card is for the newest sketch over at Cardabilities!  Such a simple and fun sketch!  I hope you will play along with us!

I started by covering the front with patterned paper, that I distressed a little with my fingernail.  Fussy cut the snowman, inked the edges, adhered him down and then covered him with Mica Flakes (such a fun look!).

Punched a scallop border on both sides of a kraft strip, adhered a strip of patterned paper, heat embossed my sentiment and traced the snowflake with some Stickles!  Of course I smudged the snowflake while I was transfering it, so after it dried completely and the pictures where taken I added a rhinestone to the center there.  HEe.

Stamped my sentiment in versamark and white embossing powder.  Tada!

Well that is all for me today, I hope you were inspired in some way!  Thank you so much for stopping by.

P.S.
FYI, Cardabilities will be having a blog hop along with the next sketch on January 15th!  We would love it if you joined us!  Lots of projects and prizes!  Details to come!
