Thinking of You

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  I have a little tut for you today that is up on the Ribbon Carousel Blog, on how I made this ribbon-button flower for my card.  I thought I would share it here as well.  This is certainly not new or anything fancy, but I think it adds a little something and helps use up those ribbon scraps!

To start, I added a piece of strong tape to the back of my button.

I then trimmed my ribbon down to small pieces.  You can find the ribbon or this twill which is similar at the Ribbon Carousel Shop here.

Next, I looped my ribbon, stapled them together and adhered them to the back of my button, all the way around until I had it completely filled.

To create my water color flower stem, I simply scribbled some ink onto my clear block. picked up the ink with my water brush, and colored in my image.  I would recommend using watercolor paper, so it won't pill when you add your ink.

Here are a few close-up's of my card.  I hope you enjoyed!  Have a great day.

Paper: Studio Calico, October Afternoon

UR- a layout

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by!  I have a scrapbook page to share with you that I made a little while ago.  You know that ebb and flow of creativity, I felt it the other day and totally enjoyed neglecting house work and my family, lol, while playing with my stash!

For this page I dug into the April Studio Calico Kit, City of Lights, as well as some Sasparilla from October Afternoon.  I also tried out a new Hero Arts set I got the other day, using the ampersand and a few of the words to describe my rambunctious little boy.

Of course, I added some droplets of Mr. Huey in two colors...

I layered my pictures onto patterned paper and added bits and pieces to the mat.

I hope you are enjoying a relaxing, crafty weekend!  I appreciate you coming by.

Hi there!  The Craft's Meow release day is here!  I am so glad you found your way to me from Karen Baker's blog!  If not, go check out The Craft's Meow blog for all of the hop information and to see the new releases in full.  I really appreciated your support this week, this release has been one of my favs so far and I can tell many of you think so too!  So, enough talking, onto the project!

I decided to incorporate the stamps onto another scrapbook page, you can check out the other one I did here.  I combined Giddy Up with Owl Journaling, to create this layout about my son at the park last year.  Remember, Giddy Up is a free set included in a TCM purchase of $50 dollars or more.

I used many different elements on this page as well as many of the small images and labels.

I broke into the January Studio Calico Kit, County Fair for this and added a bit of this and that from other collections, like October Afternoon.

Now, for a chance to win ALL 6 Stamp sets, you need to leave a comment on each designers blog.  The deadline to leave those comments is Monday, April 23rd at 9 pm PDT, so you have a bit of time.  Alright, now you are set to see more inspiration over at the next stop on the hop, Michelle Bertuzzi's blog!

Here is the list of everyone participating today, should you need to refer to it.  It is also located on The Craft's Meow Blog.

The Craft's Meow Sneak Peak- Giddy Up

Hey, hey!  I am so glad you could join me today!  We have made it to the last set in the line up of April stamps sets by The Craft's Meow.  Today's set is called Giddy Up designed by Michelle Bertuzzi.  Just like Thanks Bee to Thee from last month, Giddy Up is only available if you spend $50 or more.  Here is what I did with it.

Starting with a cream card base, I adhered a piece of patterned paper from Crate Paper's Story Teller collection that came in the March Studio Calico Kit.

I then took one of the wood frames, from the April kit, and adhered it to a piece of cream cardstock that I stamped with a sentiment and two images from the Giddy Up set.

Lastly, I layered a die cut star and blue button threaded with twine, and adhered it to the frame.

Well, that is it for me today, please stop on over to The Craft's Meow blog for more info and inspiration!  I will be back tomorrow for the big release blog hop!  You don't want to miss it!

The Craft's Meow Sneak Peak- Vintage Rides & Owl Journaling

Hello!  I hope you are enjoying the previews from The Craft's Meow!  I am sharing two more today one is  called Vintage Rides by NinaB Designs and then there is Owl Journaling from Jenny Suchin.  Both of these are super fun and I can't wait to share what I have with you.

For the first set, Vintage Rides, I broke out Studio Calico's Abroad 6x6 pad and layered the papers onto my card base.

I stamped the retro car image, colored it with copics and cut it out.  I then popped it up onto my card with foam and glossy accented the windows.

Added a bit of twine and some buttons.

Lastly, I stamped my sentiment!

For my next card I started with the zigzag stamp included in the Owl Journaling set.

I layered on patterned papers from the Miss Caroline, Dilly Dally collection from My Mind's Eye, and added some lovely gray silk ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel store.

Lastly, I stamped one of the phrases in a brown ink.

For my last project, I whipped up this little notebook of sorts to document some of the cute things my four year old has been saying.

To start I stamped the notebook page image repeatedly onto cream cardstock, cut it out and punch a hole through the stack with my Crop O' Dile.  I then threaded it with twine.

I stamped a few of the coordinating images onto a few of the pages for some interest, but kept if fairly simple.

Phew!  You made it all the way through, thank you!  I hope you have enjoyed, now be sure to pop over to The Craft's Meow's blog and leave a comment for a chance to win one of these two sets.  I will return tomorrow with one more set for the April release.

The Craft's Meow Sneak Peak- Inspired By Audrey

Hey there and welcome to the second day of The Craft's Meow April stamp previews!  Today's lovely set was illustrated by the talented Karen Baker.  She is such an inspiration to me and I am so honored to be able to play with her designs!

For my card today, I chose to use one of the small scroll images included, which I stamped over and over onto the bottom portion of my card front using a hot pink color.

I then took the frame image, cut it out and stamped my sentiment within it, adding a little gem to the top and small gems along the sides of my sentiment panel.  Lastly, I rounded the corners.

Be sure to leave and comment on the TCM blog for a chance to win this set and also hop around to see what my teamies have created with this classy set.

Have a great day!

The Craft's Meow Sneak Peak- Nature's Beauty & Travel Time

Hello, hello!  I am so glad you could join me today!  I have some fun projects to share with you using the latest stamp sets being released at The Craft's Meow for April, so prepare yourself for picture overload!  We are also welcoming two special guest designers this month, Geri Freeman and Gini Cagle, so please be sure to visit with them for more inspiration.  The first set, Nature's Beauty is a lovely one.  Check it out:

To start, I layered on some patterned paper from Studio Calico's Classic Collection Vol. 2.  I adhered the strip paper, as well as a strip of light yellow cardstock impressed with woodgrain texture.

I then took the flower image and stamped it in two shades of purple, as well as my sentiment.

I tied some twine around the card and secured it with double buttons and a bow.

Lastly, I stamped a butterfly and colored it in with some Copic markers.

The next set, called Travel Time, is oh so trendy!  Kaitlyn Ord did a fabulous job on this one and because of the travel theme, I decided to use it for a scrapbook page!

To start, I brought out the April Studio Calico Kit, City of Lights.  Love the papers in the kit, so I chose the black and teal colors for my page.

For the stamping on to the page, I decided to heat emboss the images in white to make them pop and give the page more texture.

I added paint splatters as well as layered patterned papers.  And, I couldn't forget me new fav, washi tape!

I hope that you enjoyed the projects today, and get to take a look at my other team mates work.  Leave a comment on The Craft's Meow's Blog for a chance to win these two beauties.
