Winnie & Walter Guest Post Take 3

Hello, and happy Saturday!

Today I have another post up at the Winnie & Walter Blog! This week I chose to focus on ink blending. Seriously, what is not to love?!

Below are the two cards I created, and if you want more details on how I did them, hop over to the W&W Blog for the nitty gritty!

For this card I used the Essentials: Audrey's Cutaways and In Bloom: Maggie's Roses.

And for the sentiment I used The Big, the Bold and Comfort.

For this rainbow card, I brought out the True stamp set.

As well as In a Word: Hello Cutaway!

Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope you were inspired to try a bit of ink blending on your next project! Have a great day!

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #3

Hey friends!

Today is a new Share Joy Challenge, and it is super fun! I always enjoy a Tic Tac Toe style inspiration board. You can go anyway. Let's see what the choices are for this one..

We all know I love Sequins, twine, and embossing of any kind, so naturally, I aimed for the center row, lol! Here is what I did with TE products.

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock, and dry embossed the Woodgrain Folder with it. I trimmed it down to a strip, and adhered it to the side of my card base. I took the Simply Stamped - Zinnias, and using my Stamp positioner, added dimension with multiple ink colors. I then die cut them out, and adhered them to the card base.

I added a twine bow, as well as a smattering of sequins to finish my card, and as a last touch, rounded the bottom left corner.

So, that is all for me today! I hope you play along with us! Have a great day.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #246

Hello!

I am back today with the newest MFT Sketch challenge! This sketch had me going crazy for those beautiful new flowers just released this month. Here is the sketch!

Instead of channeling the geometric design literally, I decided to use those blooms instead!

To begin, I stamped the Distressed Stripes stamp onto a white panel in a light brown ink, and die cut a large circle from its center. I then began die cutting and stamping the flowers and leaves from the Fall Florals set. With those finished I lightly traced the circle onto a card base, and fit all of my die cut images within it.

To finished it off, I added a big bold sentiment from the Thanks So Very Much set, using black cardstock, and White embossing powder. I added a few sequins for good measure.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you decide to play along this week!

RIC #92

Hello, hello!

Do you ever feel like Tuesday is just Monday's ugly sister? I sure do! Usually be Wednesday I have things figured out, haha! The good thing about this Tuesday, is that I bring you another fabulous Runway Inspired Challenge! Wahoo!

I love the colors on her dress, along with the bold pattern. So, I channeled some of that here.

I know I just showed a watercolor card yesterday, but this weekend was full of experimenting with it! I began with a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper, and added a generous amount of water to it. I then dropped in Tattered Rose, Cracked Pistachio, and Milled Lavender Distress Inks. Once it dried, I stamped the flowers in black ink, and then die cut MFT's Happy Hellos die from it. Using the  Delicate Pretty Poppies set again, I stamped a sweet little sentiment to compliment the Hello die cut negative.

To finish it, I took a geometric triangle stencil from Hero Arts, and added black ink to the bottom corner for a bit more interest. I then had to add a few Sparkling Clear Sequins.

I hope you join us this time! Please stop by the other girls blogs for more awesome inspiration!

MFT Card Design Contest Take 2

Hey there!

It is a new week here on the blog, and it will be busy, I can assure you! Today, I have another card to share for the MFT Superstar Card Design contest!

You know I love watercolor, and I had to give it a go this weekend, so...

I began with a panel of Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock, and wet it really well with water. I then brought in Cracked Pistacio, Mermaid Lagoon, and Peacock Feathers, blending the colors with a wet paint brush. I allowed it to dry, and then die cut the center out with the Die-namics Double Stitched Oval. I layered three pieces of black die cut ovals together, along with my watercolor piece, and reinserted it into the panel.

I added some of the Dots & Stripes Neutral patterned paper to the edges of my card base, and adhered my panel with strong adhesive. To finish it off, I stamped a sentiment from the Thanks So Very Much stamp set, as well as added a sweet little heart from the Heart Puzzle Die-namics. I applied a good amount of Wink of Stella to it and a generous coat of Glossy Accents!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Share Joy Challenge #2

Hello!

I am so happy you stopping by! Today I am bringing you the latest Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge! Using your TE stamps and dies, create a project using either the sketch, the inspiration photo or both! Here is what I did.

I chose to use the colors from the yummy looking cake, and using a white card base, did a little ink blending and masking. Once that was done, I stamped the gorgeous Celebrate stamp from the Daisies stamp set, and heat embossed it with clear powder.

To finish off the card, I blended some Broken China, and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink onto white cardstock, and then die cut the lovely Elegant Butterfly Overlay set and adhered those to my card. I then took Glossy Accents, and created dots around the card front.

Some general info about the challenge:

  1. A winner will be chosen at random each week to receive a $15 Taylored Expressions Gift Certificate. Winning entries that use TE products will receive a $20 Taylored Expressions Gift Certificate.
  2. Each month, we will award a Grand Prize to a TE Share Joy Challenge participant. The more you play throughout the month, the better your chance to win!
  3. Weekly winners will be announced at the time of the new challenge launch each Thursday.
So, what do you say? I hope you decide to play along with us! I can't wait to see what you create!

MFT Sketch Challenge #245

Hey friends!

I hope you are having a fabulous week! I am back today with my card for this weeks MFT card challenge! I used stamps and dies from their latest release, and oh my, they are so so cute! Take a look at this fun sketch..

I went with the adorable London Mouse set, as well as the London Skyline to create a dimensional card.

To begin, I took a white panel and stamped the Distressed Stripes in a light vanilla ink, and rounded the corners with the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I then die cut a square out of the center, and set it aside. On the card base, I added a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a sky, and then layered up the London Skyline, which I die cut from vellum. I also added a piece of green card stock that I had die cut from the Rolling Hills die set, to the scene.

After I stamped and die cut the clouds and tree, along with the adorable little soldier, I colored them in with Copic Markers. For my sentiment, I got creative, and did a little masking on the Hello Sunshine sentiment from the Polynesian Paradise set from last month. I simply covered up the H, as well as the word Sunshine with a piece of post it tape, inked it up, and then removed the masks. After I stamped it, I trimmed it out, and added a bit of detail with a black multi-liner.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you find time to play along this week! Have a great day.

Witch Way Is the Candy?

Hey guys!

Thanks for stopping by! I thought I would share a fun card I created especially for the My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar challenge! Say that five times fast!

My card today features the Witch Way Is the Candy stamp set, by Birdie Brown, and it is so adorable! I don't usually make Halloween cards, but with this set, I couldn't refuse.

I started with the Stitched Interactive Window die, which I die cut from a white panel. I trimmed off the squares, and made marks on my card base, so I knew where to stamp my critters. I took the panel, and sponged on the bottom portion, Twisted Citron, and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink, using the Wonky Chevron Stencil.

I stamped the cute witch onto white cardstock, and colored her in with a variety of Copic Markers. I trimmed her out, and adhered her to the panel with foam tape.

I colored my other images as well, erased those pencil lines, and adhered the panel to the card base with lots of foam! Cute huh? I love that witch!!

Thanks for joining me today! I will be back again tomorrow with a special post! What a week!

Share Joy Challenge #1

Hello, hello!

I am so excited that you stopped by, because today is the start of the new Taylored Expressions Challenge blog, Share Joy! Here is our first graphic, and you can pick between the sketch, or the color palette. I chose to combine both of them.

I had to ink up the lovely Daisies stamp set, using two different shades of yellow. I added the panel to a white piece of cardstock that I had inked and splattered with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I tied a bit of twine around it, and adhered the whole piece to a lime card base.

To finish it off, I added a few sequins, because, well, I loooove them! HAHA!

So, grab those TE stamps, because I hope to see you play along! Taylored Expressions has some really great products, along with their awesome stamps and dies! Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great one!
