Runway Inspired Challenge #89

Hello!

I am back today, to share the latest Runway Inspired Challenge! This one is fab, because there are a couple of ways you could be inspired. The beach, the stripes, and the colors are just a few!

Our fabulous sponsor is the fun Etsy Shop, FishScraps! Carrie provided the team with some of her fabulous digital products and I have used them here, inspired by the fun photo above.

I started with strips of cardstock on my cardbase, and inlaid a sentiment from the Glow and Shine Motivational collection.

I then took a couple of the beautiful feathers from the Peach Peacock Feathers collection, printed on white cardstock, and trimmed them out. I adhered them with foam tape over and around the sentiment.

To finish it off, I adhered a few sequins. I hope you were inspired, and decide to play along with us!

Also, please stop by to see what my teammates have come up with using FishScrap products.

AEIHeartU Challenge #27

Scroll down or click HERE for my Virginia's View Challenge card!

Hello, again!

I am back to share the latest Avery Elle Challenge with you! This month is focused on Embossing. I love all things embossed. From heat embossing with powders, to dry, you can't go wrong with the varying looks you can achieve with it!

For my card, I decided to dry emboss using the fabulous Wonky Stitches die set. To achieve this, I opened my Big Shot platform to Tab 1, then laid down my clear cutting pad, next a rubber mat, my card base with dies affixed, and then the top plate. Run it through, and you get a subtle texture. I colored my couple, from Geek Love, with Copic Markers, and trimmed them out, adhering them to the card with foam.

I added a few hearts from the Home Sweet Home stamp set, using red ink, as well as my sentiment stamped in Onyx Black Versafine. I also added a bit of Glossy Accents to their glasses!

I hope you decide to play along with us this month. Jaime is always super generous with her prize, and you never know, you could be the winner! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'm Here Rain or Shine

Hello!

I have a fun announcement to share, if you haven't been over to Virginia's View Challenge, but she invited me to guest this month, and I couldn't refuse. I created two cards for the challenge, so be sure to stop over there to see them. I thought I would share another card here, using the same theme, embellishments.

I am a pretty clean and simple card maker, and I will be honest and say that when I found out the challenge was embellishments, I got a little nervous! I mean, I use them, but would the minimalistic way I used them be good enough? I didn't really need to fear. Using embellishments is just that, to enhance. Let's take a look at this example.

I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock, and did a wash of Shaded Lilac Distress Ink. I sat it aside to dry, and created a panel with a window to go over the watercolor wash. I colored and cut out some of the cute images from Mama Elephant's Chance of Rain stamp set, and positioned those on the panel.

After I stamped my sentiment, I added my beloved PPP Sparkling Clear sequins in three different sizes, and left it at that. Sometimes less is more, right?

I hope you give the challenge a go this month! I can't wait to see what you make! Thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #353

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by! I have a fun card to share with you, using the fabulous color combination from Color Throwdown, as well as a super fun stamp from Winnie & Walter.

It is a mini set, called Mini Scenery: Multifaceted and it's only 3x4, but oh boy! It is fun! I stamped the image onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper, and white heat embossed it with white powder. I then took a paint brush and watercolored in Mustard Seed, Grape Jelly, and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks, onto each triangle.

Once that was dry, I trimmed it out, added a bit of Tumbled Glass to the card base, and adhered it with foam tape. I added my sentiment from Altenew's Figure Effects stamp set, heat embossing that in white, onto black cardstock. I trimmed it out, and popped it up onto the panel. To finish it off, I added a few black pearls.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Hope Today Tickles You Pink

Well hello!

Long days of outdoor activity with the kids? Check! Not enough time in the day? CHECK! For real, though...crafty time has been severely limited. I haven't made a video in ages, and when I am at the table it is to make things for a few special things coming up. Which, I can't wait to share!

BUT, you didn't come here to hear me babble on about busy days, and no crafty time! I have a card, ya'll! The MFT card Challenge blog put out a fabulous color combo, and I had to squeeze time in for it. When I say squeeze in, I mean 5 minutes here, and 5 minutes there. Well, before the toddler figures out that I am gone, and comes looking for me! I digress, though..the color combo is super summery, and super fun!

Veronica inspired the use of the Flamingo from the Tickled Pink set, since I haven't used the die set that much. It was time to give it a place on my card. And, of course, the Modern Blooms set is just one of my favs. I used lime cardstock and a fabulous scalloped frame to border my images. I added my sentiment in a dark gray, and added my die cut flamingo.

I die cut, and stamped the flowers and leaves from Modern Blooms, and finished it off with a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. So bright and fun!

Thanks a million for stopping by! I hope next time won't be so long. We shall see...

RIC #88

Hey friends!

I have another fabulous Runway Inspired Challenge for you! Are you ready? Great, cause it's awesome!

My interpretation is a bit more fuchsia than the colors on her skirt, and could be from bad eyesight. ;0)

I started with a piece of white cardstock, cut from the Finished Frames Elle-ments from Avery Elle, and added Picked Raspberries, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks to it. I then die cut the word Wish from it, using My Favorite Things, Stars and Wishes die set, as well as a few more, from black cardstock, and adhered them all together with liquid glue.

I arranged the panel onto a white card base, and adhered the die cut back into the open area.

I added to the sentiment, using the coordinating stamp set, Count the Stars, in Onyx Black ink, along with a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. As a final touch, I adhered black die cut stars from the Lucky Stars die set.

Our fab sponsor is Ellen Hutson, with a generous gift voucher to the store! Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Have A Beary Special Day

Hey, hey!

I just love a good pun, and Birdie Brown never disappoints. For the latest MFT Sketch Challenge, I wanted to ink up the new Birthday Bears stamp set. I also added a few hearts from the Birthday Wishes and Balloons set!

I started with a white panel, and added Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the edges, and adhered it to a white card base. I then die cut a panel using a stitched rectangle die, and adhered a piece of patterned paper to it, that had been die cut with the same rectangle die set.

I stamped the bear, and the hearts onto Neenah 110 lb. cardstock, and colored them with Copic Markers, trimming them out, and going around the edges with a black marker. I also white heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock, and trimmed it into a banner, adhering it under the bear.

I hope you've enjoyed! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Virginia's View Challenge #16

Hi everyone!

Do you find summer slipping through your fingers? I sure do, and I want it to slow down! I found a little time to get crafty, for this month's Virginia's View Challenge, 100% stamped! This challenge theme is right up my alley! I have been drooling over the latest patterned paper pads out there, and then realize, I don't use them. At. All.

Most of the card is stamped, except for the watercolor background, let's take a look.

I began with a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock, and did the smooshing technique using Cracked Pistachio. If you aren't familiar with this technique, I did a video showing how to, here.

While I let that dry, I stamped, and masked the cute cat sitting on the cushion from the Furry Friends stamp set. I then masked off the cushion, and stamped a background from Woodgrain and More set, in Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, and sponging on the ink on only the bottom.

I carefully trimmed it out, and popped up the piece onto my watercolored background. Adding a sentiment from the set, as well as a few hearts from the Red and Goldie set, onto the background. For a finishing touch, I added some squirts of Glossy Accents.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

RIC #87

Hello!

It is another Runway Inspired Challenge, yeah! Even after all of these years of playing along with this challenge, I never tire of the fabulous card inspiration I get from these glamorous outfits. What can you do with this one?

I had to use a bit of silver, as well as the blue/purple colors inspired by her skirt, on this card. Sadly, even with all the inks I own, I didn't have a decent Periwinkle color to match, so I improvised. You can watch what I did in the video below.

I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock, and inked up the Classic Fabric Design Background stamp from Hero Arts, using Ranger Distress Ink in Shaded Lilac, and Tumbled Glass. I then spritzed the stamped, and placed the cardstock down onto the stamp. I then allowed it to dry.

Using Avery Elle's Peonies stamp set, I stamped my flowers, using Versamark, onto watercolor paper and heat embossed them with Pewter powder from American Crafts. I trimmed them out, and placed them onto my water color panel. I also heat embossed my sentiment from that same stamp set.

To finish it, I added some Clear Sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, because, Sequins!!

Below is the video of how I created the card. I can't wait to see what you create with this challenge.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

AEIHeartU Challenge #26

Hellooo!

Is it really time for another AEIHeartU challenge? It is really hard for me to accept that it is July. The summer is just flying by. So, this month we want to see you sparkle, using Avery Elle stamps, and dies! I went a little crazy and made two cards, with a video. I know...don't be an over-achiever. ;0)

Isn't that word die cut fabulous? Yeah, I think so too. All of the Simply Said stamp sets and dies are among my favorites.

To start this card, I cut strips of glitter paper from American Crafts, and adhered them to a white piece of cardstock. I then took the die, and ran it through, right over the glitter strips. Using Staz-On ink, I added the first part of the sentiment from the coordinating stamp set.

I then added a piece of acetate to the back, and adhered foam tape to create a little area for my sequins. I used three different sizes from Pretty Pink Posh to fill the well. I covered it with a piece of cardstock, and adhered the panel to a white card base. To finish it, I adhered a scattering of black pearls. Now, how about a second card?!

I started with the Finished Frames Elle-ments, and a white card base, dry embossing the two frames into the front of the card. I then stamped the two flower images from the Peonies stamp set, onto white cardstock, adhering clear double sided tape over top. I removed the backer and sprinkled on some Martha Stewart fine glitter. I made sure to burnish it really well, and trimmed them out.

After I adhered the flowers, I placed the die cut where I wanted it, and using the Simply Said: Amazing stamp set, added a few words to complete my sentiment.

I will leave you with a little video! Thanks so much for stopping by! Remember, there are two $20 store gift certificates up for grabs to the winner, so please play along!

Wishing You Nothing Bundt the Best

Hey, hey!

Well friends, I finally got this post up, YEAH! I had planned to do this post three days ago, lol! So, I have been playing with the Avery Elle Bring On the Cake stamp set, again, and had to share what I came up with.

I started with a white panel, and brought in Ripe Persimmon, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks, and then die cut a cute border using the Stitched Borders 3 die set from Pretty Pink Posh.

I stamped my cake twice, colored the base, and the top of the other was glittered up to look like sparkly frosting. You can watch the video to see how I made the frosting!

Hey Cupcake, Make A Wish

Hello!

This stamp set from Avery Elle is just too cute. I can't stop using it! I had to stamp out the cute cupcakes for this card today, and color them up, rainbow style!

I started with a white panel, stamping, and masking the five cupcakes across the lower half of it. I then colored them with Copic Markers, and trimmed along the bottom of the cupcakes, and stamped my sentiment.

I popped up the panel on a black cardbase, and adhered a few black pearls to accent the sentiment. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the frosting to spice it up a bit.

Thanks for checking it out, and were inspired! Have a great day!

You Are An Amazing Dad

Hello, hello!

I have a bright and fun Father's Day card to share with you, using Distress Inks, and Avery Elle! I always love seeing what sentiments I can make using sets like these, and by splitting one of them up, I was able to piece together the perfect sentiment for my husband's card. There is even a video showing you how I made it. Yeah!

I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock, and, masking off my strips, applied Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, and Faded Jeans, with a foam applicator.

I die cut Avery Elle's, Amazing die from the panel, and added the rest of the sentiment from the Simply Said Amazing mini stamp set in Onyx Black ink. To finish it, I adhered a panel of foam to the back, and placed it onto a light yellow card base, and added a few black enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an Amazing day!
