Grumpy...

Hello!

Well, I am not, and neither is my card! Hee! I wanted to share another card I created this past weekend while with my friends, using the latest MFT Sketch. I rotated it, and created a window, totally inspired by the talented Alice.

I started by stamping the adorable Paw Print background stamp, and then die cutting it out with a pierced rectangle. I adhered it straight to the cardbase and added a pink frame from the same nested set on top with foam.

I stamped, and cut out the A-dorable cat from the I Knead You stamp set, and tucked him into the corner. Did a little stamp splicing, and stamped it in gray. I added twine as a last touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day.

Thank You...for your kindness

Good morning!

I have a colorful card to share this morning, inspired by the latest Color Throwdown. I was able to get together, yesterday, with my crafty gals and Tammy encouraged me to play along. I couldn't refuse of course, but also she's on the design team..who am I to argue?!

I started with a teal card base, and embossed a My Favorite Things wood background stamp in Versamark. I then used clear embossing powder to melt it. Make sure your heat tool is REALLY warmed up, and you won't have as much warping. I tied some twine around the card base, and then moved on to the panel.

For the panel, I die cut a stitched rectangle, and then stamped the floral images from MFT's Modern Blooms. I chose a few Hero Arts inks, and layered the colors to create my flowers and leaves. I added a sentiment from Wplus9's Fanciful Feathers in black and adhered the panel with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

AEIHeartU Challenge #24

Hello again!

I am back today to share this months Avery Elle challenge! we are all about Spring! I had fun with this one, because I can't get too much floral, and spring is all about the floral, and cute little critters too! I couldn't forget the cute little critter...who just so happens to look like my Palomino Rabbit, Jimmy. :0)

I started by inking up the Woodgrain and More stamp set, and stamping it in soft brown onto my card base. I took a piece of white cardstock, and ran the top and bottom through with one of the Dotted Borders Elle-ments for a bit of interest. Stamping the leaf image from the Laurels set in Beanstalk and then stamping it off again, giving it a look of a two toned wreath.

I added a sentiment from Fabulous Florals in Onyx black, and then added my stamped and die cut flowers. Some are from the Fabulous Florals die set, and some the Laurels set. Lastly, I stamped and die cut a rabbit from the More Stories stamp set, and colored it in with Copic Markers. I then popped it up with foam tape over my flower cluster.

Thanks for stopping in! I hope you get a chance to join us this month. There are two fabulous gift certificates to the Avery Elle store up for grabs!

Gnome One Else

Hey! Long time no see!

I have been busy as a bee over here, getting the house ready to put up for sale, finishing the school year, and chasing the toddler! Card making for the fun of it has sadly been put on the back burner for awhile, until I get a bit more free time. I am sure you can relate. I did have a fantastic weekend down in Berlin with my crafty gals. Time away to sit and craft? YES, please! I made up this card while I was down there, using the You Gnome Me set from My Favorite Things.

I started by stamping the gnome, and masking him off. I then stamped the sentiment, and removed the mask. I then lined up the die using a negative piece, and ran it through partially, trimming away the excess on both sides of him. I then took my colored pencils, and Gamsol, and colored him in.

I used a bit of Avery Elle's Everyday Collection, and adhered a piece to a white card base. I then adhered the gnome piece with foam tape, finishing it with enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today! I hope you have a great rest of the week.

RIC #82

Hi guys!

How's your week going? Mine? Filled to the brim with toddler insanity. Blue Sharpie on my couch (lots of it), tantrums, no sleep, more tantrums. For real, I am beat! I know, they grow so fast, but honestly, I think I will pass on this stage. Want to see the latest Runway Inspired Challenge? It certainly cheers this momma up! Check it out:

Ohhh, I love that dress! Obviously I was inspired by the black and gold, but did you check out the background too? There are so many possibilities to it!

I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper, and added Black Soot Distress Ink to it with lots of water. I kept layering the color, drying and layering until I got the look I wanted. After I got done with the panel, I moved on to die cutting the fun wreath from Wplus9 called Spring Wreath Die, from Gold cardstock I had gotten in a Simon Says Stamp card kit. I layered two of those together with foam, and adhered it onto the watercolor panel.

I die cut a hello from My Favorite Things Happy Hello die set, from black cardstock. I added Clear Wink of Stella to it, and coated it in Glossy Accents. I adhered it loosely to the panel, and the tucked in a couple of vellum leaves from Wplus9's Folk Art Floral die set.

I adhered the panel to a piece of black cardstock, and added that to a white card base. I hope you enjoyed, and decide to play along! Our fab sponsor is Ellen Hutson, and a generous gift certificate will go to the lucky winner. Check out the other gals cards, always amazing!

Hello Darling

Hey, hey!

I hope you had a fab weekend. I certainly did! The weather was lovely, and I enjoyed time with my crafty gals. I didn't get much done, but spending the day chatting, and not having to do any housework equals awesome.

So, I didn't make this card over the weekend, but it has been patiently waiting to be shared, so here it is.

I used Altenew's Striped Floral set to stamp out my design. I colored them in with a variety of Copic Markers, and added detail with a gold gel pen.

The sentiment is from Avery Elle's Fabulous Florals set, stamped in Onyx Black ink. I took a few of the blooms, and created dimension by coloring and cutting out the images and popping them up with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a good one.

Neon Thank You

 Helloooo!

It's Runway Inspired time!  Check out this vibrant, colorful outfit!  I tried to incorporate a few things from it on my card today, such as the checkered jacket, and some of the bold colors.

I started by stamping a plaid pattern onto the card base using Hero Arts Shadow Inks. My recommendation is to chose pigment, it doesn't soak into the paper, and creates a nice distinction between colors. But, it was within reach, and so I went with it. I then die cut a circle from a panel, and popped it up over the plaid.

I had to break out my MISTI for these gorgeous blooms by Altenew, and I used Hero Arts Neon inks for added pop! I love how they turned out! I added a banner with a fun sentiment from our awesome sponsor, Bossy Jocie! This stamp is so cute, and she has so many more in her adorable shop. After I white heat embossed it onto fuchsia cardstock, I trimmed it down and adhered it to my card front with foam. I finished it off with a few rhinestones.

I do hope to see you play along with us this week because Miss Joscelyne has a generous prize available to the winner!

Amazing

Hello!

Are you as shocked as I that it is April? Whoa. I am certainly thankful for the spring weather coming through and to finally come out of hibernation! This cold was a serious downer for me this year, and after much planning and strategizing, I truly believe I won't have to go through that again. If you live in Texas, near Waco, give me a shout...I believe that is where my husband and I will be relocating later this summer.

So, I know you didn't come here to hear about my moving plans, although I would love to find crafty gals in that area, I have a card to share. The latest Virginia's View Challenge is all about Layers and Dimension. These little elephant stamps from Wplus9 just had to be inked up and colored, so I got super inky for this.

I started by taking a piece of watercolor paper, and adding Ranger Distress Inks and lots of water. I dried it in between layers, and smooshed it onto the color on my craft sheet. I then heat embossed my sentiment and adhered the panel to a card base. I die cut a fun frame by Paper Smooches, and popped it up using foam tape.

For the elephants, I went from top to bottom, and masked off their feet as I went down, stacking them on top of each other. I colored them with Copic Markers, added detail with a white gel pen, and then fussy cut them out, and adhered the stack to the side of the frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

AEIHeartU Challenge: Watercoloring

Hey all!

How goes it?  Great I hope!

I have a couple of cards, that will hopefully inspire you to play along with the latest AEIHeartU Challenge: Watercoloring!  We all know how I feel about that, lol!  I did two cards because I didn't want to stop, check them out.

I used the fabulous Get Well set, as well as Handwritten Notes.  I dry embossed a diagonal design onto the base of the card front, and added a strip of cardstock, inked with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  To create the bouquet, I gold heat embossed my image onto Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.  I added my distress Inks to my craft mat, and painted the flowers, leaves, and wrap.

I cut out the bouquet, and popped it up with foam.  I then heat embossed the sentiment from Handwritten Notes in gold powder onto vellum, and attached it under the flower bunch.

How about another?  Alright!

I took a piece of water color paper and stamped the bouquet image so that just the floral part transferred.  I painted them ink with Distress Inks, and added a light blue wash just above the flowers.

I adhered my panel to some Avery Elle patterned papers, and adhered it to a Kraft card base.  To finish it, I added a few yellow enamel dots.

I hope these inspired you to play along with us.  There is always a great prize up for grabs to the lucky winner!  Thanks for joining me today.  Have a great day!

Somebunny Is Thinking of You

Hello!

I have a little card to share with you, using the adorable Somebunny stamp set from MFT.  Spring is FINALLY here, and I wanted to cheer someone up with this springy card.

This card has a lot to it, die cutting, masking, coloring..but totally worth it.  I started with a white card base, and stamped and masked my clouds and bunny.  I then inked the sky with Tumbled Glass Distress ink, removed the mask, and colored the bunny with Faber-Castel and Inktense Pencils.  I blended the colors out with Gamsol for a smooth look.

I then die cut the grass with an stitched edge die, and added a few carrots that I colored and cut out.  I finished it off with a popped up frame and some Wink of Stella glitter on the clouds and her clothes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hello To You

Hey there!

I hava a little Avery Elle card to share with you today, using the Red and Goldie set.  So cute, and so fun to color!

I started with a frame die cut with the Finished Frames Elle-ments, adhering the panel straight to the white card base.  I used a couple of pieces of patterned paper from the Everyday Collection paper pad, creating little banners from them, and heat embossing my greeting on it.

I colored the little girl image with Copic Markers, and trimmed her out, adhering her with foam tape over the banners.  Super simple!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Have a great week!

RIC #80

Hello, hello!

Spring is on the way!  That makes me so happy!  This outfit does too, seriously...it's so fun.  I immediately thought of watercolor, of course.  Here is the latest Runway Inspired Challenge:

I chose a couple of Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough, Weathered Wood, Peacock Feathers, and Black Soot to create a background.  I also brought out the fabulous Vintage Roses set from Altenew for that pop of orange!

This past weekend I met up with my crafty gals, and got to use the MISTI stamping tool.  I have to admit to being quite skeptical about its usefulness, as I don't really mass produce many cards.  Well, those roses and leaves didn't stand a chance of being messed up with this tool...so I got on my phone, and one is making its way to me as of now.  HAHA!  Never say never, right?  So, after I was done layering my watercolors, I stamped a sentiment from the Get Well set by Avery Elle, with Versafine Onyx Black, heat embossing it in clear powder.

I stamped the roses using my friend Kirsty's MFT dye ink pads, and trimmed them out, layering the up onto my panel.  I attached it to a black card base, and adhered a few black pearls to complete it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you play along, I can't wait to see how you are inspired!

Take Two Thursday: Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit

Hi there!

Here we are, well into March already!  I have another installment of Take Two Thursday to share with you.  If you aren't familiar, my good friend Katie and I choose a stamp set, and see what we can do with it, and post the results on our blogs.  It is inspiring and fun, so I encourage you to go see what she has made!

So, this time, we picked this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit.  It is packed with grays, and yellows, and this pretty stamp set.

I decided to make a shaker using the fabulous gold shimmer paper that was included.  I used the fun circle border die that came with the kit, to create all of the circles.

After I created my shaker window, I die cut a circle from the lovely black and white striped patterned paper, and added colorful stamped flowers, trimmed out and layered onto the card.  For my sentiment, I die cut a Thanks from an older Paper Smooches die, and adhered it with a bit of Multi Medium Matte.

Thanks so much for stopping in!  I hope you were inspired, and please go check out what Katie did, she's a card genius!
