RIC #78

Hello!

It's time again for a new Runway Inspired Challenge!  This one is fun!  Check it out:

Two things that stuck out to me, the colors, and the stripes.  I used the Simon Says Stamp/Mama Elephant Exclusive Summer Garden stamp set to create my flowers.

I started by stamping black diagonal lines using Mama Elephants Message Bands stamp set.  I then stamped the flowers, and colored them in with Copic Markers.  I die cut them out, and popped them up on top of the stripes.  I stamped the sentiment, and then finished it with a few rhinestones.

Our generous sponsor this challenge, is the lovely Ellen Hutson, and a store voucher!  Yeah!

Thanks so much for visiting with me today.  If you're in the Northeast, stay warm...if not, I am coming for a visit!  :) Take care crafty friends.

I Adore You

Hello, and Happy Valentine's Day!

I am certainly thankful for the weekend, and of course my sweet hubby.  I tell you, I truly found a wonderful man.  This fall we will celebrate 10 years of marriage, and I wouldn't trade a day.  Here is the card i made for him to celebrate this love filled holiday.

I broke out the I Blank You set from Paper Smooches, as well as the Sweet Hearts set.  Taking a piece of watercolor cardstock, I stamped the line of hearts in Versamark, and heat set it with clear Hero Arts embossing powder.  Using a few Tim Holtz Distress inks, in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade, I created a watercolor resist.

I dried it with my heat tool, added a bit more color, and heat it again.  I took a piece of vellum, and stamped my sentiment in Onyx Black pigment ink, and added more clear embossing powder over it.  I wrapped it around the panel, and adhered that panel to a black card base using foam.

Thanks for stopping in!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

The Sale Continues...and a card!

Happy Monday!

If you've been over to the i {heart} papers blog, than you probably already know about the increase in the coupon code.  There are still quite a few really great products left, so head on over to browse.

I thought I would share a card that uses some older goodies from the store.  Sadly, you can't get these, as they are sold out, but if you are inspired, use what you have on hand!

I used Avery Elle's The Man stamp set to stamp two bottles onto a white panel, as well as my sentiment.  I adhered a strip of black cardstock, and adhered it to a card base that I had adhered a piece of Kelly Purkey Second City patterned paper.

I finished it off with some black enamel dots.  I just love those bottles with the bubbles in it!  So fun!

I hope you get a chance to stop over to see what's left in the store.  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Take Two Thursday: AE Bunting

Hello!

Holy snowpalooza!  It just won't stop over here, and quite frankly, I am done with it!  haha!  I am dreaming of spring, and summer.  I seriously can't wait, and because I have it on my brain, I created a card with warm weather in mind.  Katie and I are playing with Avery Elle's Bunting stamp set.  I just love all of the possibilities with it.  So, we have the cutest Italian Cafe up the street from us, and they string clear round lights on their patio.  I wanted to recreate the look on my card today.

I stamped the solid black curved line, and added the bulbs.  I then took a yellow Copic Marker, and went around the filament, and a bit of gray to the edges.  Of course, I added Glossy Accents to them, because they are glass.

I also stamped my sentiment in Onyx Black Versamark so that I could heat emboss it with clear Hero Arts powder.  I trimmed down the panel and added it to my card base, which I had adhered a bit of purple patterned paper and a strip of black cardstock.

Now, I am off to make some warm tea, and cover myself in blankets, as it is in the single digits right now.  BRRRR!!  Have a great day friends, and please, stop over and see what Katie made.

Hellooo fashionistas!

I am back today with the latest Runway Inspired Challenge!  I never tire of these outfits, honestly, there is so much inspo in one pic!  Let's see where it took me, eh?

I loved the colors, and the patterns, and of course, the florals.  So, I grabbed a bunch of different stamp sets for this one.

I started with a white panel, and stamped the Starburst Background cling stamp by Hero Arts, in Sea Glass ink.  I then took the Lovely Mums set from Mama Elephant, and stamped the outline in gray, and the solid in Lemon Chiffon.  To add more depth to the flowers, I took a Y11, and Y15 Copic Marker and shaded some of the areas.   I also gave each flower a generous amount of Wink of Stella over top.

I trimmed them out, and placed them onto my panel, along with a layered die cut from SSS, called Wishing Die.  I stamped a part of a sentiment from their Thought Bubble stamp set, in Charcoal ink from Hero Arts.  Obviously, I stamped the sentiment onto my panel first, and then glued on my die cut.  I added a couple of rhinestones to dot the "i's" and popped it up onto a white note card.

So there you have my interpretation of this fun dress!  Give it a go, we would love to see what you make!

A Tag!

Hello!

Yes, a tag!  I haven't done a tag in ages, so I thought it would be fun to play along with the Tag You're It!  Challenge blog.  Debby Hughes is the amazing guest designer, and her tag to CASE is so lovely.  Here is what I did:

I created my tag from white cardstock (click here to see how I did it), and ran the top portion through my big shot with an embossing folder.  I chose the Lawn Fawn's Love You A Latte stamp set, stamped my sentiment, added coffee beans in Antique Linen Distress ink, and added a brown strip of cardstock.

I took a couple of coffee cup stamps, and stamped them in Tuxedo Black, and colored them with Copic Markers.  I die cut them out, and then placed them onto my tag.

To finish it off, I added some clear sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and added a bit of twine.

That's it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

AEIHeartU Challenge: Masking

Hello card making friends!

I am stopping in to let you know about this months AEIHeartU Challenge.  It is one of my fav card making techniques, masking!  I grabbed an oldie, but a goodie, Petals & Stems.

I started by using the Dotted Borders Elle-ments dies, and cut a white panel.  I marked on my card base where those would go, and then stamped my flowers within that area.  I used Mint, and Goldenlocks from Simon Says Stamp, as well as Sweet Nectar, and Mojito from Wplus9.

To add a bit of punch to my flowers, I took a matching Copic marker, and highlighted parts of each of the petals.  I then stamped my sentiment on the curve, and added the white sections using foam.

Here is a look at the markers, and inks I chose.

I do hope you'll play along with us this month, there is plenty of time to enter!  Have a great one!

Cupcake Celebrate

Happy Friday!

I have a super clean and simple card to share with you today, using some older Lawn Fawn stamps from the i {heart} papers store.  Everything is still 50% off (code BYEIHP), so be sure to head over there and see what's left.

I started with a white panel, and the cute little cupcake from the Birthday Tags set from Lawn Fawn.  I drew a line across the front of the panel, and stamped the cupcake repeatedly.  I then colored them in with Copic Markers.

I added the candle to the top of the middle cupcake, and stamped a simple greeting also from the Birthday Tags set.   I adhered the panel to a Bazzill Card Shoppe card base using foam.

I hope you've enjoyed!  Thanks for visiting today.  Have a great day!

Sending You Sunshine

Hey there!

I am playing along with this weeks MFT Sketch Challenge!  I used the adorable Sunflower Sweetheart set, as well as patterned papers from Basic Gray's RSVP 6x6 paper pad.

Here is a look at the sketch:

And here is what I did with it.

I started by taking floral patterned paper, and die cutting a square within a square, and adhering it to my card base.  I then layered in a few pieces of paper from the pack to coordinate.  I trimmed a vellum banner, and tucked that under the square.

I colored my image with Copic Markers, and die cut it out.  Man, I love those markers!  ;)  I then stamped and trimmed my sentiment strip, and tucked it in behind her.  I popped her up onto the card base with foam.  To finish it off, I added a couple of gold glittery enamel hearts.

That's it for me today.  Thank you so much for stopping by!

A Floral Thinking of You

Hello, and happy Monday!

I wanted to stop in and let you know that whatever is left in the i {heart} papers store, is now 50% off.  There are still a large number of fab clear stamp sets left, as well as paper pads, and embellishments!

I made a card using some older products from the store, again, they are no longer available, but I encourage you to check out the stamps that are there.

I started with a white panel, and stamped a colorful floral arrangement using Wplus9's Fresh Cut Florals, as well as the More Fresh Cuts set.  To get good placement, and not waste cardstock (as I am likely to do) I stamped out my design onto scratch paper first, and the copied it onto my panel.

I took a piece of patterned paper from the Hello Again paper pad by Carta Bella, and adhered that to the left hand side of the card base.  I adhered the panel, and rounded the bottom right corner.  For a last detail, I adhered a bit of twine and tied it in a bow.

That is all I have to share today, hopefully I will have more soon.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!  Have a good one.

Cat Shaker

Hey!

Back again today, with a card for i {heart} papers!  The liquidation sale is still going on, so be sure to stop over to get 40% off.

So, two things I can't stop making, shaker cards and coloring with my Copic markers.  I started by stamping the circle images from Winnie & Walter's Big Bang Confetti set, in Soft Pink ink.  I then cut out a rectangle from the panel, using the We R Family die from Avery Elle.

I created a gradient panel to place behind it, using Distress Inks, stamped a sentiment in black ink, and after adhering a bit of acetate to the opening, and filled it in with sequins.  I stamped, and colored in the cat image from Paper Smooches' Party Posse, cut it out and placed it onto the card with foam.  As a finishing touch, I added a bit of glossy accents to the cats eyes.

Well, that's all for me today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT Sketch Challenge #212

Hello!

I am back, again, playing along with the latest sketch at the My Favorite Things Challenge blog.  I enjoy these so much!  For this week's sketch, I went a little bit off the beaten path with it, hopefully you can still see the sketch in there, lol!  I rotated it, and went at an angle.

I used the A-dorable set, Sweet Birthday Wishes to make it, seriously..it. is. so. cute!!  Check it out.

I started by running a chevron embossing folder through the bottom portion of the card, at an angle.  I then sponged in some Mint ink over top of it.  I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, and adhered it at an angle.

For my little birthday girl, I stamped and die cut her, and set about coloring her up.  I didn't take a photo of the colors I used (sorry bout that), but they are pretty easy to replicate.  I also added a generous amount of Glitter over her dress.  I also die cut and colored the balloon, and placed it behind her.

So, there you have it!  Thanks so much for joining me here today.  I appreciate it!

Take Two Thursday: SSS January Kit

Hellooo!

My good pal Katie and I are sharing projects we've made with the January Simon Says Stamp Card kit on a Wednesday this time around, instead of Thursday.  I really like the papers, and used them on both of my cards today.

You're never going to guess what kind of card I made...go on guess?  HAHA!  Yup, a shaker.  We'll get to that in a moment, how about something clean and simple.

I used the worded brown paper, and stamped the adorable snowflake image onto it, using Mint Julep, Pool, Soft Brown, and Wet Cement Hero Arts Shadow Inks.  I added Blossomberry from Wplus9 to tie in the purple.

I then took Cup O' Joe ink, and stamped my sentiment, adding a bit of shimmer to the letters with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Pen.

For this, I covered the card base with patterned paper, and then created a shaker box using two pieces of acetate, and foam tape.  I added micro beads in the coordinating colors, and sealed it up, adhering the box to my card base.

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark, and gold heat embossed it, trimmed it out, and adhered it over the shaker box.  Lastly, I added a few gold sequins (not in the kit) from Pretty Pink Posh.

I can't wait to see what Katie has come up with using this kit, because I am sure it is fabulous!  Thanks for stopping by!
