Viginia's View Challenge #24

Hello, friends!

I was playing around with my Taylored Expressions stamps, and inks, and made a card! This is a big deal, as my creative mojo bit the dust. When that happens, I get on my computer and search for fun challenges to play with. Virginia's View was a perfect solution.

I haven't made many fall cards, so the Fall Florals stamp set, and matching dies helped me made a clean and simple card easily.

Starting with the leaves, I used a couple of green inks, along with the rock-and-roll technique, and stamped out my leaves. I then die cut them, and began layering them onto an open circle die cut.

I used several other images in the stamp set, and using the rock-and-roll technique again, ended up with an assortment of elements to place onto the leaf wreath.

I stamped my sentiment in brown ink, in the center, and adhered the wreath, along with the other pieces. I then added some detail with a white gel pen, and some Wink of Stella.

Share Joy Challenge #53

Hello, dear blog readers! 

This week's latest Share Joy Challenge is either a sketch, or a pretty color combination. I chose the color combination, because I love fuchsia! Let me tell you what I did, and what I used to create this!

When I saw the Diagonal Stripes Cutting Plate, I knew it had to be mine. It proved to be the perfect fit for my idea for this card. I used it on a piece of Lollipop card stock, and adhered the negative pieces onto my Sugar CS card base, using foam adhesive. Tip: Use the positive portion of the die cut, using temporary adhesive, to evenly space your pieces. Once they are adhered, gently remove the positive piece.

I then took Toffee, Granny Smith, and Blue Corn Card stocks, and heat embossed the floral images from the Fresh Floral set, and die cut them out. I layered them into a cluster onto a vellum circle, and adhered them to my card front.

For my sentiment, I heat embossed a lovely greeting from the Simply Stamped: Roses set, and added glossy accents to the center of the flowers. I also adhered a few rhinestones, and added white gel pen dots around my focal image.

Share Joy Challenge #48

Hello!

I have the latest Share Joy Challenge to bring to you, today! I used the fun sketch for this one, along with the Simply Stamped - Pineapples stamp set, and dies. As I write this, it's 90 degrees, and hot, hot, hot! That pineapple looks good enough to eat! 

To begin this card, I took my frame and marked the inside edges. I then masked off the edges, and erased the pencil marks. I brought in a combination of Distress Ink to create a very tropical background. I set that aside, and began stamping my pineapple.

For the pineapple, I used several dye inks to layer up the image. Once it was stamped, I die cut both the top and the bottom out, and placed it onto my card front to see where to draw lines with my black multi-liners. I adhered the frame with foam tape, stamped my sentiment, and adhered the pineapple, along with a few black sequins.

A Memory Box Post
