Share Joy Challenge #9

Click HERE or scroll down, for my CASEing Kelly Blog Hop Post!

Hello, hello!

I am back today with the latest Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge! I chose to play with the sketch this week, using the fabulous Ornament Overlays, and Ornament Accessories

I started with a white card panel, and adhered a bit of black and white striped patterned paper to the top and bottom. I then die cut the large ornament from the set, and applied some distress ink in Worn Lipstick, and abandoned Coral.

I also took the Accessories set, and die cut one of the "hooks" from some cardstock that had multiple layers of silver embossing powder on it. I adhered the ornament, the top metal hook, and a green bow to my panel, and popped it up on a light tan card base. Taylor is so sweet, as she sends a sweet little die with your purchase, and I used the latest one here, Peace. Isn't it lovely?

So, I thought I would cover the ornament with a little shimmer from a Wink of Stella pen, but squeezed it a bit to hard, and out it came!! I ended up just flicking the cardstock panel with it to create blobs. Story of my life, right? HAHA!

I hope you find the time to play along! We can't wait to see what you make! As always, thank you so much for visiting me today!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop

Hello everyone!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I have a special post today, a blog hop in honor of the super talented Kelly Latevola! You should have, hopefully, arrived from Linda Trace's blog, if not, no worries. You can start the hop, HERE. So, I have had the pleasure of crafting with Kelly at one of our monthly get-togethers, and let me tell ya! She is super fun to be around, and so funny! I wish I could see her face when finds out about this! If you aren't familiar with her, or her series, you can check out what she did with a couple of my cards, back in June, HERE.

So, if you aren't familiar with what Kelly does on her blog, she takes three cards from a crafter whom she is inspired by, and creates a card based on those three. Super fun idea! I chose these three cards of hers, which, in my opinion, are A-mazing! From these cards, I was inspired by:

1. Watercoloring - because, I love it.
2. The bold colors
3. Her use of black sentiments

I took those things and created my own card, featuring a bit of watercoloring, bold colors, and a bold black sentiment. I even made a video of how I made it! You can watch it below.

To start, I took a piece of watercolor paper, and applied Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn to the wet corner. I then set it aside, and stamped out my poinsettias from Avery Elle's Christmas Florals set, with Altenew's Ruby Red ink. I also stamped out the leaves, using Forest Glade, and Evergreen inks. I then die cut them all out.

Using my MISTI, I stamped my sentiment in Versamark ink, and then adhered the panel to a white card base with a piece of foam.

I then began to arrange my images onto the front, and adhered them when I placed them where I wanted them. I finished it off with some lovely Clear Sparkling Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I hope you were inspired! Please be sure to hop along, and leave comments for a chance to win any number of goodies from the generous sponsors! Thanks again for joining me today! Have a great one.

Share Joy Challenge #8

Hello, hello!

I am stopping by today to share the latest Share Joy Challenge! Big surprise, I chose to go Clean and Simple. What? You expected something different? HAHA!

Ever so slowly my Christmas cards are being made. I don't want to admit that it is coming, but time stands still for no one!

So, the Critters On Ice Stamp set is adorable! I just love them! I stamped and colored the moose, and then brought in some Tumbled Glass distress Ink for a bit of "ice." In true stampers style, I got him a bit crooked, so I took the opportunity to add a few accents to either side of him, to make it look like he had wobbled, and fell on the ice.

For the background, I took a stencil, and applied Embossing Paste over it, and allowed it to dry. I used a bit of glossy accents on his eyes, and a silver gel pen to accent his skate blades.

I hope you can play along with us this week! I would love to see what you make! Thanks so much for stopping by. I will catch up with you soon!
