I Think You're Pear-fect

Hiya!

It's a been a busy weekend here, but never to busy to get crafty!  I have a little card to share using some fun Wplus9 products from the i {heart} papers store, as well as the fun challenge from the Moxie Fab World's Fabulous Friday Challenge: Graphic Garland.  What a fun inspo pic!

Here is what I came up with:

I brought out the Punny Products: Pears set from Wplus9, and stamped the pears on a square of watercolor paper.  I then used Distress Markers and water to color them in.  Inspired by the garland, I placed strips of fun patterned paper from the South of Market 6x6 pad from Studio Calico, and added a couple of mini staples to the right side.  The colors are there, minus the orange.

I stamped my sentiment in Onyx Black, and adhered the watercolor panel to a white card base.

AEIHeartU Challenge: Sequins

Hello crafty friends!

I am stopping by to show the card I made using the latest AEIHeartU Challenge.  This time around, use sequins!  Wahoo!  I love sequins.  I chose to use them in my "normal" way, which is sprinkle them about, but I really love a shaker card.  I probably should have gone that route.  Ah, well...

I started by stamping one of the images from the Gift Tags Set in a melon color, onto the base of my card.  I then used some Studio Calico South of Market patterned paper, along with a couple of water colored strips I made.   I die cut the Simply Said: Happy Die two times, from Kraft and white cardstock, and layered them slightly off a bit on top, and added the Birthday stamped in Wplus9's Coconut Husk ink with the coordinating stamp set.

Me, and The Last Minute...

...we're best friends, you know.  I have had the best of intentions to play with this challenge or make a card for that challenge.  Life forces it aside, and in some cases, forgotten.  This time around it happened to be the lovely Paulina's Cutting Edge Blog Hop over at Pretty Pink Posh.  Here it is, the last day to enter!!  Well, by golly, I am entering!

Here is what I came up with, using some fun new stuff from the i {heart} papers store:

Sadly, I don't own any of her dies.  Seriously, they are perpetually sold out (sad face), and I just can't score me some.  So, I dug in to the stash of a million dies, and used the fun new Kudos set from Paper Smooches.  To begin, I took a trimmed white panel, and partially die cut it (leaving it connected to the panel).  You will need a ruler, and a craft knife to trim the excess.

I set that aside and took a white card base, stamping the flower clusters from the Blossoming Buds set, and coloring them in with Copic Markers.  I then took the set, I Blank You, and selectively inked one "you" I thought matched well enough, in Onyx Black.  I popped the panel up onto the card with foam, and added a few black pearls.

Take Two Thursday: August Studio Calico Kit

Hellooo!  It's been a busy week on the blog!

It's time for another Take Two Thursday!  Yeah!  Katie and I played with our Studio Calico Sandlot kit for August.  I love the fun stamp set in this kit from Life. Love. Paper.

I took a piece of patterned paper from the pad, and repeatedly stamped the word love in Versamark ink.  I then white heat embossed it with Hero Arts White embossing powder.  I adhered the piece to another small strip of patterned paper, and then onto a card base.

To finish it off, I trimmed a piece of pink paper, stamped and embossed the you onto it, and added the fun wood veneer cat that came with it, along with the cute little sequins.

It's Runway Inspired time again, my friends!

These weeks just zoom by don't they?  Our inspiration pic this time around is super cool, bold and fun!

I saw a couple of different ways to go with it, so I created two cards to share.  One is indirect, and the other a more literal interpretation.

On this one, I was inspired by the woodgrain, and the flowers on her dress.  So, I stamped Lawn Fawn's Woodgrain Backdrops in Soft Brown ink from Hero Arts, and trimmed the panel apart.  After I stamped the sentiment from the Sentiments and Quotes set from Altenew, I then popped up the middle portion back into the space using with foam adhesive.

I took the Magnolias For Her set, also from Altenew, and white heat embossed the flowers onto vellum, trimmed them out, and adhered them to the card front.  I finished it off with some Pretty Pink Post Clear Sequins.

For this next card, I went with the colors from the photo, as well as the flower and woodgrain elements.  First, I applied my Distress Ink colors (Festive Berries, Spun Sugar, and Picked Raspberry) over my heat embossed flowers.  Like before, I cut them out and then set them aside.

For the white panel, I wanted my sentiment to be glossy, embossed, but I didn't have blue powder, so I stamped it first with Navy Ink and then again with Versamark, heat embossing it with Hero Arts Clear powder to set.  I then adhered a piece of wood paper, along with my panel and flowers to a blue Bazzill Cardshoppe cardbase.

Hey, hey!

Did you have a good weekend?  I hope so!  I managed to make a few projects, which I will share later.  For now, I have a watercolor card using new stamps from Paper Smooches that are now available in the i {heart} papers store.  This card fits in nicely with the latest PS Sparks challenge, Anything Goes!  :)

So, to begin, I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock, and stamped the smaller bouquet image from Blossoming Buds in Archival ink, and colored it in using Distress Markers and water.  After it dried I went back in and added a bit of depth here and there.

I did a little sentiment mixing using the same set, and adhered the panel to a card base, to which I had attached a piece of patterned paper from the Hello Sunshine 6x6 from Pink Paislee.  To finish it off, I added a few enamel dots.

A Triangle Happy Birthday

Hello, and happy Saturday!

I am popping in today, to share a clean and simple card I made for the latest Moxie Fab World Fabulous Friday Challenge: Trendy Triangles.  Now, I took some liberties with this, but then what is inspiration if you aren't inspired to make what you like with it?  I was mostly inspired by the triangles themselves.

To start, I got out a bunch of Hero Arts inks, along with the fun Altenew set, Sohcahtoa, and after lightly drawing a diagonal line across the front, stamped one of the smaller triangles in a gradient.

I then took Label Love, and stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black for a really crisp image, trimmed it out, and adhered it with foam.  I finished it off with a few gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

AEIHeartU Challenge 13: Kraft

 Hi again!

Two days in a row, can you believe it?!  When it rains it pours, I say.  So, I have been a busy bee at my craft table.  The rainy day on Sunday helped, and I managed to make a few things.  Yesterday, I got the chance to create a card for the AEIHeartU Challenge, to use Kraft, and also use some of the new products from the i {heart} papers store.  It was a gloriously sunny day, so I snapped a few pics of some of supplies I used as well.

I grabbed a bit of Wplus9's Kraft cardstock, some white pigment ink, and a mini ink blending tool, and set to work sponging on the ink using a Heidi Swapp Stencil.

I then took another of her stencils and inked up a few hearts over top of those white circles...and die cut the word Happy from the Avery Elle's Simply Said: Happy die set.   

I took the Happy die again, and cut it out if some hot pink cardstock, inlaid it back in the cut word on my panel, and adhered the original a little off center.  I then took one of the words from the stamp set, and stamped it in Hero Arts Black ink.

I trimmed the sides down, and adhered the panel to a white cardbase. and added a few black enamel dots.

Magnolia Congratulations and Questions!

Five days, has it really been that long?  I know you likely don't care to hear more about the busyness, and hey, neither do I!  So, how's bout a card instead?  I knew you'd approve!  Seriously though, when I have been at my table, I have been trying out some fun things I have seen at the latest Online Card Class, Clean and Simple Card Making 2.  I love these classes...even though I have been making cards for years, there is always something to learn.

The card I am sharing today uses a fun background stamp, perfect for Day 1 & 2 of class.  Let's take a looksie.

So, I got the Herbs & Honey Tile background stamp recently, and inked it up with Versamark, heat embossing it in Hero Arts White powder onto watercolor paper.  I then took a fun collection of Distress Markers, and colored in some of the open areas of the image.  Taking a wet brush, I swiped it across to make the colors bleed, and got a really pale, pastel look.

I then cut it up, adhered it with foam to my white card base, and added a stamped sentiment from the Magnolias For Her set from Altenew.  Oh, I should have gotten this set long ago, it's a fav!  I then white heat embossed the flowers, and inked those with Distress inks and a Mini Ink Blending tool, cut them out and adhered them to the card front.  I also added the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Love that background!  I urge you to give it a try!  Okay, so I have to ask, and I would LOVE your feedback, so please, pretty please, tell me what you think.

Take Two Thursday: Fun With You

Hiya!

I am back with my good pal Katie, as well take a stamp set and create something with it.  This week we chose the Lawn Fawn's Love You S'more stamp set.  Now, the i {heart} papers store is currently out of this set, but there are a gazillion others to chose from.  I also chose to use the dies that go with it for my project, cause I love em.  

I really wanted to use the adorable pine trees!  Confession: I am terrible at lining things up when I stamp, so I took a pencil, and made lines equal distance apart and stamped the trees in two green inks, Green Dye ink, and Soft Green, both from Hero Arts.  Amazingly, I managed to get them straight, haha!

I tried heat embossing my sentiment in white on vellum, but it just didn't show up against the card base.  So, I tried black sparkle powder, what a disaster!  Glitter everywhere!  I ended up stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black and sprinkling Hero Arts Clear embossing powder over it.  It's not as vibrant, but it did the job!  Yeah!

For my cutie critters, I stamped them onto watercolor paper, and colored them in heavily with cheap watercolors from Michaels.  I then die cut them out, and adhered them to the card front.

Pretty Hello

Well, hello!

So many stamps, so little time.  That is my catch-phrase lately, anyway.  I bought the lovely The Big, the Bold, and the Extras from Winnie & Walter awhile back, and just now got to ink it up.  I hate when life gets so busy that I can't find time to play! 

I love the curvy rose included in the set, and stamped it at the bottom of my card front.  I used a dark and a light pink pigment ink, and was surprised and delighted at the results I got around the edges when I used the rock n' roll technique.  

I stamped the hello from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy in black, and then stamped it again onto a strip of white cardstock.  I popped it up and added a bit of Wink of Stella.  I also added some lovely Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins.

Today, I am bringing you the latest Runway Inspired Challenge!  Have you seen the redesign?  Ohhh, it's fabulous, go check it out if you haven't!  Okay, back to the challenge...There is a lot of fabulous inspiration to be found in this photo, so much so, that I created two cards!

And, guess who our fabulous sponsor is?  Altenew!  Woot, woot!  Wanna win a stamp set?  Play along and you just might.  

I used the super fun set, Figure Effects, to create this super simple card.  I loved what Laura Bassen did with the window, and the die cut (here) and wanted to try something similar on my card. 

To start, I took a white panel and stamped the images in black.  I then took a square die, and partially die cut it, omitting the bottom portion.  I then trimmed around the stamped images with my scissors, and popped it up onto a card base that I had applied Stormy Sky Distress Ink.

Before I adhered the panel with foam tape, I white heat embossed my sentiment onto the base of the card.  To finish it off, I added a few yellow enamel dots.

Now, for this one, I decided I needed to capture the lovely ethereal nature of her top, so I white heat embossed the gorgeous flowers from the new set, Persian Motifs.  I fussy cut them out and adhered them to a card base that I covered with patterned paper.   

I then took a sentiment from the Label Love set, and heat embossed it in Pewter, trimmed it down, and adhered it with foam.  Of course, I had to add a bit of bling, and sprinkled rhinestones about the front of the card.
