Great Joy

Hello, hello!

It's good to blog again, after being away for a week.  I know, I had posts scheduled, but now I feel like I am getting myself dug out of vacation mode, and back at the craft table, blogging and such, again.  Sometimes routine can be my best friend.  So, today, I wanted to share a little card I created using this weeks Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge, the July Designer Draft.  Hard to believe July is coming to an end...

I used Paper Smooches stamps that can be found in the i {heart} papers store, as well as Distress Inks, and Washi Tape.  I have it on good authority that Kate is going to be stocking some pretty fabulous goodies when her move is completed.  I can't wait!  Until then, I will play with all of the fun products I already have!

So, to begin, I took watercolor paper and wet it with water and a brush, adding my color, and allowing it to blend.  I then let it dry, added Tape to the edge, and stamped a bunch of floral images from the Calico set all over it.  

I took a white notecard, adhered a strip of black cardstock, and stamped a sentiment from the Group Hugs set, which isn't available in the store currently, however, there are many others including the Chit Chat set, which I think would have worked just as well.  After that, I popped up my panel at an angle using foam adhesive.  Super simple!

Take Two Thursday: July SC Card Kit

Hello, hello!

Today I bring you another Take Two Thursday post, where Katie and I take on a stamp set (or in this case, kit) and make schtuff!  This time we chose the July Studio Calico Kit, Penny Arcade.  So, I started a card, and hated it...then made another, and love it.  Funny how that works.  I will show both, because, hey, I am all about transparency.

This is the second card, the one I really like!  I took a Peacock Feathers Distress marker, and using the Tim Holtz spritzer tool, applied ink to the top and bottom corners of a white card base.  I stamped the cute cloud image in Bubblegum ink from Hero Arts, as well as the small cloud.

I took a piece of vellum, and heat embossed my sentiment in gold, and stitched it onto the side of the card.  A piece of patterned paper from the kit was adhered to the opposite side, and then a few wooden stars were placed here and there.

I took the fabulous yellow striped paper, and heat embossed the circles onto it with white embossing powder.  I also used the die to create a little banner window for the sentiment.  I stamped the banners in fun colors, cut them out and popped them up onto the top of the card.

I then added some of the wood stars to finish it.  So, there you have it...two cards from the latest Studio Calico kit.  Hop on over to see what Katie did with it, as I am sure it is clever and adorable!

You're Totally Cool

Hi there friends!

I have a simple stamped card for you today, using products from the i {heart} papers store.  I hope you were able to score a bunch of stuff from the awesome sale last week.  There are still a lot of fabulous stamp sets left in the store, so I thought I would use a couple of them on my card today.

I brought out the fun Backgrounds and Borders 2 set from Wplus9, and stamped the chevron image in a bunch of greens and blues.  I used Soft Green, Mint Julep, Tide Pool, Lake House from Wplus9, and Pool from Hero Arts.  I love the gradients look!

After the background was stamped, I made sure it was good and dry, and white heat embossed a sentiment from two Paper Smooches sets, Good Gab, and Sentiment Sampler in white embossing powder.  I had to finished it off with my favorite enamel dots.  ;0)

A Special Happy Birthday Blog Hop

Hello!

Today is a special blog post for none other than Kate LaSala, the owner and all around great gal, of i {heart} papers!  It's her birthday, donchaknow...of course, my card today, features products from her fabulous store.  Happy birthday Kate!!

I embossed a panel with the Lifestyle Crafts Jubilant folder, and applied Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberries, Shaded Lilac and Peacock Feathers to it with the Mini Ink Blending tool from Ranger.  I then took a large circle punch, and created a window on the side, adding vellum to the backside of the panel.

I stamped a sentiment from Paper Smooches Happy Birthday set in black directly onto the card base, and added a bit of silver twine to the side of my panel.  After adhering that to my card base, I took a multiple hearts die from Paper Smooches, and die cut them from silver glitter paper.

RIC #64 Happy Birthday

Hey, hey!

The newest Runway Inspired Challenge is up, yeah!  This one is full of potential!  I wanted to capture the lines of the bottom portion of her dress, but alas, I just couldn't make it work.  So, in true CAS fashion, haha...no pun intended, I went super simple.

I took the Spring Blooms set from Wplus9, and inked it up with Hero Arts Lemon Yellow, and Soft Yellow inks.  I then took Wet Cement, and added the flower centers.

I stamped a simple sentiment from More Fresh Cuts by Wplus9 in the same gray ink, and added a scattering of lovely sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  As a last touch, I rounded the top right corner, and added a bit of Wink of Stella to the dark parts of the flower petals.

Hello indeed!

I have a busy week ahead, and wanted to make sure I snuck in a card for the AEIHeartU Challenge, to create a one word sentiment card.

To start, I used the Elle-ments Custom Panel Dies, to cut three pieces of Studio Calico Hello, Hello kit patterned paper from the A2 panel die.  I then rounded the bottom portion of each panel with the curved line die.  I heat embossed my greeting from Modern Leaves, in white powder, and also used the starburst images from Storybook to stamp on the top piece of patterned paper.

After all of the layers were adhered, I stamped and colored my mouse, cut it out, and adhered it to the card.  Sadly his tail was ripped off before I could take a picture...18 month olds are notoriously sneaky, and Dallas somehow managed to do the job while I wasn't looking.  I repaired him, but sadly his backside still shows the battle scars.  lol!

Take Two Thursday: Thanks Friend

Hello!

Today, Katie and I are back with another T2T post!  This time we are using the fun Denim & Daisies stamp set and dies from Paper Smooches.  This card fits perfectly with a few of my favorite challenges too, like Virginia's View (to use die cuts), as well as the Moxie Fab World (to use word dies).  Yeah!

To start, I masked off the edges of my card base with washi tape, and applied Scattered Straw Distress ink with my Mini ink blender tool.  I took the various flower die cuts and inked them up with Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmelade and Tumbled Glass.  I also die cut a few leaves and inked those with Crushed Olive, and adhered them all to my card front.

I took the Friend die, also from Paper Smooches, and cut it from black Bazzil cardstock, stamping  the thanks above it, and glittering it up with the Wink of Stella Glitter brush pen.  To finish it off, I adhered a few enamel dots in matching colors.

Love You and a Sale Update!

I hope you are having a great week so far.  Things are so busy this summer, I can't catch my breath!  I can bring you a little card I made the other day using the super cute Denim & Daisies set from Paper Smooches.  The i {heart} papers store is still having their sale, and everything is now 40% off!  Oh my!  Well, this set is still in there and I wanted to use it.

I started with the tiny heart image, and stamped it in three different pink inks.  I used Ultra Pink, and Raspberry Jam from Hero Arts, and Sweet Gelato from Wplus9.

I then took a piece of black cardstock, and white heat embossed my greeting, by selectively inking the words from two separate sentiments.  I trimmed it out, and popped it up with foam dots.  I added a few black pearls to finish it, as well as rounding the top right corner.

CupCards To Go Summer Kit Reveal: Ariana

Hi again friends!

I have some projects to share with you, using the Ariana (golden life) Cup Cards To Go kit for this summer!  There are some fabulous papers from KaiserCraft and My Mind's Eye, as well as embellishments from MME, along with May Arts ribbon.  It's lovely!

Let's get started, shall we?  This gold triangle vellum overlay is positively yummy!  Gah!  I wanted to use it on everything!  Don't worry, I didn't, but you will see it again.  HA!  So, I adhered a large amount to my card base with a little glue, and added a piece of this decadent floral paper that I die cut from a banner die, adding a bit of twill ribbon.

I then added a cut out sentiment, along with a metal heart accent (love these)!

For this card, I wanted to use the gold accents that you get on a little sheet, starts, hearts and arrows.  So, to make them the star of the show, I took a panel of cardstock, and ran it through a Tim Holtz embossing folder that I had applied Distress Ink to.  Before I ran it through, I spritzed the folder first.  I love the effect!

I threaded a bit of glittery ribbon through the gold chipboard accent and adhered it to my panel, popping the panel up onto a cream card base.

On this bold card, I used the fabulous gold striped pattern paper, adhering it straight to the card base.  I tied a knot in one of the thick pieces of ribbon, and adhered it to the card. 

I adhered a lovely red square of paper, along with the punch out sentiment.  To finish it, I adhered a rose bloom with super strong adhesive.

How about a sketch challenge?  This is the latest one, and my card is below, where I used more delightful pieces from the kit!

Taking a piece of patterned paper, I adhered it with a bit of stitching on the top and bottom portion.  I also ran a contrasting strip on top of it.

I added a sentiment along with a chipboard button, tulle flower and a fun wood veneer watering can, that I inked with a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

RIC#63 Happy Birthday

Hello paper crafting fashionistas!

Today is a new challenge over on the Runway Inspired Challenge blog, and I have a card to share with you using this fun inspirational pic.  My mind went in all kinds of crafty directions when I saw this, yet, I ended up keeping it pretty simple. 

To begin, I stamped a simple cluster of flowers, using Altenew's Painted Flowers set (which is in stock!), onto my white panel.  I then trimmed strips of black cardstock and adhered those at a jaunty angle, mimicking the look from her dress.

I then stamped my sentiment from the same set, and popped it up onto a card base that I had stamped in a gray ink with the HA Envelope Pattern Background stamp.
