Thanks So Much

Hello!  So glad you stopped today!  I have yet another butterfly card to share with you using a set of stamps from Martha Stewart Crafts.  This set came in a starter kit that was on clearance at Walmart, appearently they wont be carrying her stamps anymore.  Anyway, I also used the collaged trim stamp set from Sassafras that has been sitting here forever just waiting for some ink, along with the 6x6 BasicGrey Basic White paper pad.  Thanks for checking it out friend!

Butterfly Tag

Hey there!  Thought I would post a tag I made using some hot pink sticky-backed felt from Darice.  I saw it and wondered, hm, would my PTI butterfly die cut through that?  Ha!  It sure did!  I used some October Afternoon's Fly A Kite line and layered it on a Martha Stewart Tag.

I am getting ready to depart for Chicago on Friday morning and seriously can't wait! I am nervous and giddy and a whole range of emotions I can't quite put my finger on. Part of me wants to run and hide at the thought of meeting so many talented people and the other just can't wait to shake their hands! I think I need meds!! I am also on a budget and worry that I won't spend my money wisely, EEK! I just need to enjoy every minute of it and just go with the flow! My poor husband is on camera duty and I think he feels the same way (the nervous part)! Most of my feelings come from the unknown, since I have never been to CHA before and I just don't know what to expect. Well my friend I am finished with my counciling session, hee, hee! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there!  I have an extra special card to share with you today that I made for my mom's birthday.  It was yesterday but we will be celebrating today with a yummy meal and some cake!  My mom loves vintage finds and is amazing at locating these treasures at the Flea Market, garage sales and ebay!  Her house is a treasure trove of 30-40's vintage goodness.  For my card I tried the rolled flower technique that I have seen all over blog land.  Rae Barthel had a great tutorial on her blog awhile back.  I used some more of my crinkle ribbon and a different kind of tag from Martha Stewart Crafts.  I will be back tomorrow late to show you my card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  Thank you for stopping by today!  I always love reading your comments.

Celebrate Today

Hello!  This is probably the lengthiest post I have ever written so bear with me.  I have a little card to share with you that has a very masculine feel.  I combined Orange Zest, Chartreuse and Dark Chocolate.  I love when I find color combos by accident.  The scraps happened to be lying there begging to be put together.  I stamped the background with the Masculine Motifs leaf in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.

On a personal note my husband has been researching my maternal grandmother's family and has found out some really neat information!  I won't bore you with all of the details but he managed to find the gravestone of my great, great, great grandparents who came from Germany, using old land records on the internet.  Along with this great find, he managed to piece together the majority of my maternal grandmother's ancestors and their occupations using a couple online resources.  Love my husbands enthusiasm for family history!  I just love learning about where my family came from and what they did when they were living.  Have you checked out your family's past?  I hope your days are filled with fun and relaxation, and maybe some history too!
